Viral Beef & Cottage Cheese Bowl

Fuel your day with this savoury meal bowl. Lean ground beef, Canadian black beans, sweet roasted potatoes, and creamy avocado, perfectly balanced with a generous amount of cottage cheese and a sweet-spicy drizzle of hot honey. It's the TikTok-worthy, protein-packed meal you need!

Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef

2 cups black beans*

2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes

2 cups cottage cheese

2 avocados, pitted and diced

4 tbsp hot honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven or air fryer to 400°F (200°C). In a single layer, roast sweet potatoes for 15-18 minutes, or until tender, tossing halfway through.
  2. Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef; cook until browned and cooked through, breaking up large pieces with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add drained and rinsed black beans to skillet with ground beef. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes to heat the beans through.
  4. Divide ground beef bean mixture evenly between four bowls, followed by sweet potatoes. Top each bowl with cottage cheese and avocados. Drizzle generously with hot honey just before serving.

Notes

Tips:

  • Toss sweet potatoes with 1 tsp oil if you’re worried about them sticking to the air fryer basket.

*Use 2 cups soaked and cooked black beans or 1 (540 mL) can of black beans, drained and rinsed.
