Kidney Bean Brownies

Raise your hand if you’re a dessert lover! Then this recipe is for you. These kidney bean brownies are a delicious and tasty dessert. Warning you may want more than one.

  • 1/2 cup red kidney beans, cooked
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup confectioner’s sugar (see tips)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 2 ounces (56 g) chopped dark or milk chocolate
  • 3 tbsp canola oil


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or line with parchment paper a 9-inch square baking pan.
  2. Add all ingredients to a blender. Blend well.
  3. Pour into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until set.
  4. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes on wire cooling rack.


Tip: Confectioner’s sugar is also known as icing sugar or powdered sugar.
